5 new servers in three new locations were added to our VPN network in Taiwan, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam.
Layer 2 Tunneling Protocol (L2TP) and Secure Shell Protocol (SSH) are no longer supported. SSH & L2TP are reported to have security vulnerabilities.
Layer 2 Tunneling Protocol (L2TP) is slow, can easily be blocked by firewalls, and is reported to pose a security threat according to Edward Snowden and John Gilmore, one of the EFF founders.
Starting from Home Screen, tap on “Settings” then tap on “More…”.
Tap on “VPN” then “+” icon.
For “Name”, type WASEL Pro VPN server address you would like to connect to (for example: fr.waselpro.com).
For “Type”, tap on the dropdown menu and select “L2TP/IPSec PSK”.
For “Server Address”, type WASEL Pro VPN server address once more (fr.waselpro.com).
For “IPSec pre-shared key”, type: sharedsecret.
Tap on “Show advanced options”.
For “DNS servers”, type: 8.8.8.8 then tap on “Save”.
Tap on the name of the connection you’ve just created.
Type your WASEL Pro VPN “Username” and “Password” and tap “Connect”.
Now, you’ll see that you’re “Connected”.
To terminate, tap “Disconnect”.
